- Sarah Finney attended the Annual Meeting of The National Association of Therapeutic Schools and Programs in January, 2010. San Diego, CA.
- Dr. Betsy Grigoriu presented a workshop on Nov 12th to an upstate New York public middle and high school titled: Section 504: What is it? Who’s it for? How is it used? The workshop was presented to regular classroom teachers who are primarily responsible for implementing accommodations and modifications in testing situations and accessibility to educational settings and activities. Section 504 refers to the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 civil rights law and is often confused with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act of 2004 special education law. Teachers engaged in short case scenarios to learn the distinctions between these two laws and demonstrated their knowledge by working collaboratively to problem-solve, access resources (in-house and online), and craft solutions.
- Dr. Betsy Grigoriu was interviewed for an article, “Diagnosis and Medications: Alternatives Are Sought for ADHD” (Sue Henninger) in the summer 2010 edition of Ithaca Child: The Paper for Parents. The article sheds light on current diagnostic and treatment approaches for ADHD and pediatric bipolar disorder.
- Drs. George Posner and Betsy Grigoriou attended a meeting of the Independent Educational Consultants Association in Toronto, May 13-15. While in Toronto, they met with some of their current and former clients from that area. They also visited Pine River Institute.
